Nature Walk at Forrestal Reserve

Appreciate some of the best wildflower viewing and dramatic geological formations on the cliffs of this former basalt quarry. See the faults, folds and igneous intrusions visible in the sedimentary bedding. Moderate to strenuous.
Directions: Please note that due to the Run for Myles event, eastbound traffic will be closed from Hawthorne Blvd to Seacove Dr (in Abalone Cove) along Palos Verdes Dr South from approximately 6:00 am to 10:00 am. If this affects your route, you may reach the Forrestal Reserve from either Palos Verdes Dr East or 25th Street to Palos Verdes Drive South. From Palos Verdes Drive South, turn north on Forrestal Dr, continue about 0.4 miles. Park on Forrestal Dr. inside the gated area close to Pirate Trail Trailhead/Ladera Linda Community Center.
