Olmsted Legacy: Bringing Nature to the City

Join Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy and the Palos Verdes Homes Association October 7, 2021 at 7 p.m. to experience an illustrated virtual presentation Olmsted Legacy: Bringing Nature to the City by writer, public historian and filmmaker Laurence Cotton.  Mr. Cotton has shared his presentations at museums, botanical gardens and to land conservancy groups across the U.S. 
Enjoy an information rich and entertaining talk about Frederick Law Olmsted’s life, career and legacy and presents a mini-travelogue of select Olmsted landscapes across North America—those designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Senior, the two sons and the Olmsted Brothers landscape architecture firm, with some additional attention given to the Olmsted landscape legacy in California.  Come learn about this extraordinary legacy of a Renaissance man and how Olmsted’s philosophy, writings and designs are still so relevant today.
