Imagine over 200 dinner guests seated at long tables in an stunning coastal setting… linen tablecloths with exquisite natural décor and wine glasses sparkling in the sunlight… the sounds of the ocean and a gentle breeze inspiring the feeling of standing in a field of coastal grasslands. The first of multiple courses is served and an evening of fine wine, beautiful food and dining as¬ sunset begins. The event is hosted by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy in partnership with Terranea Resort.
The “Palos Verdes Pastoral: Garden-to-Table Dining Experience” will highlight the importance of butterflies, birds and other pollinators and the ways in which we can help to reverse the dramatic decline in populations by creating new places with native plants and wildflowers and restoring others that will enable them to survive.
Acclaimed Chef de Cuisine Andrew Vaughan will present the event’s garden-to-table menu using the finest local sustainable seafood, grass-fed meats and the freshest ingredients and flavors to create delicious and thoughtful Low Carbon Footprint courses paired with an inspired selection of wines. The meal will also celebrate the debt we owe to nature for the food cycle, featuring seasonal local resources that Terranea and surrounding areas have to offer such as fresh herbs, honey, salts, vegetables and fruits. Pastoral will be a truly memorable garden-to-table experience that embraces the timeless beauty and taste of the Peninsula.
