🐍While you are out on our trails this summer, keep an eye out for slithering friends like the Pacific gopher snake! One of the Peninsula`s most commonly spotted reptiles, these non-venomous snakes range from yellow to dark brown with dark spots along their body and can grow anywhere from 2.5 to 7 feet long. They are sometimes mistaken for rattlesnakes because they will hiss, flatten their head, and shake their tail when threatened, but do not be alarmed. They are not aggressive or harmful to humans.
💚If you spot one, give it some space and appreciate it for the incredible native wildlife it is!

Head to the coast for a morning of meaningful conservation work at White Point Nature Preserve! Your efforts will help create a beautiful natural space for both wildlife and the community to enjoy for generations to come.
